Celestyal Discovery reveals revamped suites ahead of Arabian Gulf debut

Celestyal Cruises has revealed the first official look at its upgraded Celestyal Discovery following a significant refit in Athens earlier this year. The 1,360-guest ship returned to service in March to launch its Mediterranean season and is now preparing for its inaugural Arabian Gulf deployment this December.

A standout of the enhancements is the addition of 47 new staterooms, including 30 Junior Dream Suites and two ultra-premium Grand Horizon Suites. Positioned above the bridge, the Horizon Suites feature expansive 15.5m² balconies, offering guests sweeping views and added luxury. The upgrade has increased the ship’s premium capacity by more than 50 per cent, meeting growing demand for spacious, comfortable accommodations.

Celestyal has also introduced 15 new interior Cosmos Cabins, lifting overall capacity by 7.4 per cent. The stateroom designs incorporate regional inspiration, delivered in collaboration with design agency AMK.

Lee Haslett, chief commercial officer at Celestyal, said the refit reflects the cruise line’s continued investment in guest experience.

“We’ve enhanced our premium options and added more balcony staterooms, while maintaining the small-ship character and service we’re known for. These upgrades set the stage beautifully for our Arabian Gulf debut.”

Arabian Gulf season begins December 2025

Celestyal Discovery will launch its Arabian Gulf program on 12 December 2025, offering a season of three-, four- and seven-night cruises departing from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha. The ship will be homeported in Abu Dhabi for the next three seasons, with sailings continuing through to March 2026.

Itinerary highlights include:

  • A weekly three-night ‘Iconic Arabia’ cruise roundtrip from Abu Dhabi (Friday to Monday), with calls at Dubai and Sir Bani Yas Island. Fares start from A$469 per person twin share.
  • A weekly four-night ‘Iconic Arabia’ cruise roundtrip from Abu Dhabi (Monday to Friday), calling at Doha, Dubai (via Ras Al Khaimah), and Khasab in Oman. Fares from A$589 per person twin share.
  • Guests can combine both itineraries into a seven-night cruise priced from A$969 per person twin share.

These fares are part of Celestyal’s Euro Summer promotion, available until 31 August 2025, offering up to 60 per cent off on select sailings between June 2025 and March 2027. Guests will also receive a 25 per cent bonus on all pre-departure CelestyalPay top-ups, with up to €250 onboard spending credit.
