CroisiEurope joins CLIA’s cruise community

French river cruise specialist CroisiEurope has joined Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) as a river cruise marketing affiliate in Australasia, strengthening its presence in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The partnership will introduce CroisiEurope to CLIA’s network of 6,000 travel agents across the region, placing it alongside some of the world’s leading cruise operators and industry partners.

Growing interest in river cruising

CLIA managing director in Australasia, Joel Katz, welcomed CroisiEurope’s addition to the CLIA community at a time when river cruising is gaining popularity.

“CroisiEurope has been at the heart of river cruising for almost half a century and is part of a sector that is thriving on the world’s great inland waterways,” Katz said.

“We’re delighted to have CroisiEurope join our community amid such passionate interest in river cruising from both travellers and travel agents alike.”

Strengthening ties with the Australasian market

CroisiEurope Asia Pacific director, Naidah Yazdani, said the company is eager to expand its presence in Australasia and offer travellers unique and affordable river cruise experiences.

“We look forward to the opportunity to develop CroisiEurope in Australasia, where travellers can discover exclusive destinations and unique itineraries at an affordable price,” Yazdani said.

“In addition to our presence on all major rivers, we also proudly serve the Elbe, Venice, Loire Valley, and Andalusia. We offer a fantastic variety of experiences, from 11-cabin canal barges in France to our Southern Africa boat-lodge safari on Lake Kariba and our five ships on the Mekong River.”

Yazdani added that international markets currently account for around 50 per cent of CroisiEurope’s business, with plans to significantly grow its Australasian presence alongside its established offices in the US and UK.

“As part of our commitment to this growth, and as one of the largest river cruise lines in the world, our CLIA membership will play a crucial role in educating Australians and New Zealanders about our unique offerings and helping to develop the river cruising market in this region,” Yazdani said.

A legacy of river cruising excellence

Founded in 1976 by Gérard Schmitter, CroisiEurope was a pioneer of Rhine River cruising and has since expanded to offer cruises on rivers, canals, and seas across Europe and beyond. The company operates a fleet of 50 ships, offering inclusive packages that combine intimate-sized vessels with French hospitality.

CroisiEurope Australia representatives will be attending CLIA Australasia events throughout the year to connect with travel agents and industry professionals.
