Cruiseabout has opened its tenth Australian store at Brisbane’s Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, kicking off a five-store expansion planned for FY27 as the cruise specialist grows its bricks-and-mortar network.
The new location is Cruiseabout’s fourth store in Queensland, giving the state the brand’s largest retail footprint nationally. It follows the company’s return to physical retail and continued investment in face-to-face cruise sales.
Western Brisbane drives Cruiseabout expansion
Cruiseabout General Manager Brad Kennedy said booking and online customer data pointed to strong demand for cruising across Brisbane’s western suburbs.
“Our data from both the cruise lines, and our online teams, have shown that the western suburbs are full of Aussie travellers who love to cruise,” Kennedy said.
Cruiseabout previously operated at Indooroopilly before its current rebrand, with Kennedy saying the former store had developed a strong local customer base.
The Indooroopilly opening gives the company coverage across Brisbane’s north, south-east and western markets.
Experienced cruise specialist leads new store
The Indooroopilly team will be led by Debbie Monk, who brings more than 20 years of cruise industry experience, including roles with Norwegian Cruise Line and Princess Cruises and six years working aboard cruise ships.
“The best part about my job is sharing my passion with customers and helping them choose a cruise that completely exceeds their expectations,” Monk said.
The expansion also creates recruitment opportunities, with Cruiseabout hiring for positions at Indooroopilly and other locations across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, as well as online roles.
More Cruiseabout stores planned for FY27
Indooroopilly is the first of five new stores Cruiseabout plans to open during FY27. The company has also launched its fourth online and remote team, CATA White, while its eleventh physical store is scheduled to open in Doncaster, Victoria, in November.
The expansion signals further investment in the retail cruise sector, combining physical stores with remote and online sales teams as the brand builds its national distribution network.
To mark the Indooroopilly opening, Cruiseabout is offering customers savings of up to $500 on eligible new bookings made in-store until 30 September 2026.
