Destination Vancouver has joined Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) as an Executive Partner in Australasia, elevating its presence among cruise-specialist travel agents and showcasing Vancouver as a leading pre- and post-cruise destination.
The new partnership links one of Canada’s most iconic cruise gateways with CLIA’s network of more than 6,000 travel agents across Australia and New Zealand, as well as a broad global community of cruise lines, ports and tourism suppliers.
Vancouver is a major departure point for Alaska cruises and a standout destination in its own right, with spectacular coastal scenery, vibrant cultural offerings, and world-class experiences.
CLIA Managing Director Australasia, Joel Katz, welcomed Destination Vancouver to the growing list of Executive Partners.
“Vancouver is one of the world’s most spectacular cruise ports and a gateway to the incredible coastal scenery of British Columbia and Alaska,” he said.
“We look forward to working together to unlock new opportunities for Australasian travel agents and their clients.”
Supporting trade with new training and tools
Through the partnership, Destination Vancouver will join upcoming CLIA initiatives aimed at helping agents build cruise-inclusive itineraries and confidently sell the destination.
Destination Vancouver’s In-Market Representative for Australia, Dianna Schinella, said the move was a strategic step to support and grow trade engagement. “This is an incredible opportunity to strengthen our connection with CLIA’s cruise specialists and highlight all that Vancouver has to offer,” she said. “From natural beauty to vibrant urban life, Vancouver is an ideal pre- and post-cruise stop for travellers heading to Alaska and beyond.”
Travel advisors will also gain access to Destination Vancouver’s training and marketing tools, including the Vancouver Specialist Program and opportunities for famil participation.
