Disneyland Resort is gearing up for an unforgettable 2025 with the launch of its 70th-anniversary celebration and a packed calendar of limited-time events and festivals.
Beginning 16 May 2025, the festivities will showcase Disneyland’s legacy of joy and innovation while introducing new experiences across its two theme parks, Downtown Disney District, and hotels.
70 years of magic
The 70th anniversary celebration will feature vibrant décor, commemorative merchandise, and dazzling entertainment. Highlights include the return of the fan-favourite ‘Paint the Night’ parade and the debut of the new nighttime spectacular ‘World of Color Happiness!’ at Disney California Adventure Park. Guests can also enjoy the ‘Wondrous Journeys’ spectacular and the high-energy ‘Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!’ parade at select times throughout the celebration.
A new cavalcade, themed projections on iconic facades, and a special anniversary theme song, ‘Celebrate Happy,’ will enhance the magic. Mickey and Minnie Mouse will join the festivities in custom outfits, while Sleeping Beauty Castle will sparkle with elegant anniversary décor.
Limited-time festivals and events
Disneyland Resort’s 2025 calendar is brimming with seasonal festivals and separately ticketed events:
- Lunar New Year (17 Jan–16 Feb): Celebrate the Year of the Snake with cultural performances, themed cuisine, and Mickey and Minnie in new Korean-inspired attire.
- Season of the Force (28 Mar–11 May): Galactic celebrations at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge include nightly ‘Fire of the Rising Moons’ shows and the return of Hyperspace Mountain.
- Oogie Boogie Bash (Aug–Oct): A spooktacular Halloween party with 31 event nights.
Special events like Sweethearts’ Nite, 90s Nite, and Pride Nite provide after-hours fun, while the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival (28 Feb–21 Apr) offers culinary delights and entertainment for foodies.
New attractions and enhancements
Disneyland will also debut exciting updates in 2025, including the Main Street Opera House attraction ‘Walt Disney – A Magical Life’ and new dining and shopping options in Downtown Disney District, such as the Disney Wonderful World of Sweets and Parkside Market.
