Drive Mate launches new car-share hub near Sydney Airport

Drive Mate has launched a game-changing car-share hub just a 10-minute walk from Sydney Airport’s Domestic terminals, making airport car hire more affordable, convenient, and seamless for travellers.

A hassle-free alternative for airport car hire

Located at 40 Baxters Road in Mascot, the new hub can accommodate up to 40 vehicles. Drive Mate also works with car-share hosts located nearby to ensure a steady supply of vehicles, even during peak demand.

Guests can book a car through the Drive Mate app – even mid-flight – and access their vehicle in just a few clicks without queuing or signing forms. Vehicles are available for hire from as little as $40 a day, with petrol and insurance costs included.

Co-founder Dirk-Jan ter Horst highlighted the convenience of the new service:

“This truly is a game changer for travellers. Guests can book everything from a Toyota Corolla to an Audi Q3, depending on their budget. The ability to book in advance and skip queues entirely makes this the perfect solution for time-poor travellers and families arriving at Sydney Airport.”

Seamless bookings with guaranteed vehicles

Unlike traditional car hire companies, which often overbook and downgrade vehicles, Drive Mate guarantees that guests will receive the vehicle they book.

“What you book is what you get, delivering an assurance to drivers they rarely get at airports,” said co-founder Gaurav Singhal. “Through the app, guests can access the car, unlock it, and drive away quickly and easily.”

Flexible hire options with streamlined processes

Drive Mate vehicles can be hired hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly, offering flexibility for visitors to Sydney. The company has also introduced automated kilometre tracking and GPS in all vehicles to simplify billing for hosts and ensure seamless experiences for guests.

Fuel costs are covered with every hire, and any fuel purchases made during long trips are reimbursed.

Expanding accessibility for travellers

With more than 70,000 Drive Mate members nationwide, the launch of this new hub near Sydney Airport marks a significant step in transforming airport travel. Signing up takes just five minutes via the Drive Mate app or website, and vehicles simply need to be returned to the hub before departure.

“Drive Mate makes it easy for both hosts and guests,” said Singhal. “We’ve removed the hassle to deliver a superior car-sharing experience.”
