Emirates has extended its strategic partnership with Tourism Ireland for another two years, reaffirming a shared commitment to boost inbound travel from Australia and New Zealand to the Emerald Isle.
Strengthening tourism links through Dubai
The renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Sydney by Barry Brown, Divisional Vice President Australasia at Emirates, and Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia and New Zealand.
The collaboration will see Emirates and Tourism Ireland undertake joint marketing initiatives and promotional activities aimed at increasing Ireland’s visibility as a must-visit European destination. The partnership will focus on growing interest from key markets across Australasia, as well as the UAE.
Promoting Ireland’s culture and heritage
“We are delighted to renew our partnership with Tourism Ireland, which underscores Ireland’s strategic significance as a premier European gateway,” said Brown.
“This continued collaboration reaffirms our commitment to enhancing inbound visitor numbers and showcasing this extraordinary destination to travellers throughout Australia, New Zealand and our wider global network.”
He added that Emirates’ Dubai hub is well-positioned for Australian travellers heading to Europe, offering seamless connections and premium facilities.
Convenient connections and continued growth
Tourism Ireland’s Sofia Hansson welcomed the renewed cooperation.
“As an island destination, we know there’s a proven direct correlation between access and growth in visitor numbers,” she said.
“We look forward to continued close co-operation with Emirates as we seek to maximise opportunities to grow tourism from Australia to the island of Ireland.”
Since Emirates launched its Dublin–Dubai service in 2012, the airline has carried over 3 million passengers on the route. Australian travellers can reach Ireland via Emirates’ double daily services to Dublin, operated by wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft capable of carrying up to 1,440 passengers daily.
