Elysia Wellness Retreat, located in the Hunter Valley, has introduced two new ‘wellness mini break’ packages, inviting guests to escape their everyday routines and discover the benefits of travel as a form of self-care. The announcement was made on 8 April 2025.
Short breaks are gaining popularity amongst Australian travellers. Recent research indicates that over half prefer a series of mini breaks over one extended trip, with 57 per cent reporting that shorter trips help them ‘unwind better.’
Known for its award-winning multi-day wellness programs, Elysia Wellness Retreat’s new ‘taster programs’ start from a single night stay*, giving guests more choice to experience wellness in their own way, whether for a digital detox, a tranquil timeout, or a chance to rest and reset with a partner.
Taste of wellness package
Staying in a premium one-bedroom villa, guests can join a class of their choice from the extensive Daily Wellness Activities menu. This menu includes both high and low-intensity options such as Pilates, stretch, Fitball, yoga, deep water running, volleyball, and cardio boxing. The offer also includes a $20 spa credit for one guest, which can be used towards any treatment in the elegant Elysia Day Spa.
- Cost: From $425 per night, terms and conditions apply.
Spa and wellness escape
This package includes one class per guest from the Daily Wellness Activities menu, as well as a $150 spa voucher for one guest. The voucher can be used towards a choice of more than 50 treatments ranging from traditional massage and facials through to breathwork and ice bath immersion, reiki, energy healing, chakra clearing or wellness coaching. Accommodation in one of the retreat’s premium one-bedroom villas is included.
- Cost: From $550 per night, terms and conditions apply.
New wellness breakfast experience
Guests booking either package will be among the first to enjoy the new Elysia Wellness Breakfast, also available as an upgrade for room-only guests. Served on-site in the retreat’s restaurant, guests can choose from a curated selection of seasonal, organic, and locally sourced produce for an energy-boosting start to the day. While many retreat guests choose to undertake a ‘caffeine detox’ during their stay, those who prefer a morning brew can enjoy an organic, free-trade coffee alongside their breakfast.
“We are thrilled to expand our offering with these new mini wellness packages to give guests even more choice to experience wellness their way, by choosing the length of their stay, and tailoring their escape to suit their personal preferences, whether that’s joining a mindful meditation or yoga class, doing sunrise tai chi on Meditation Hill, challenging themselves in a high-energy boxing class, or unwinding on their balcony with a book, a cup of tea and a calming view,” said Elysia Wellness Retreat Manager, Melissa Ingram.
“With each accommodation package including two guests, the challenge will be deciding whether to bring your partner, your best friend, or your Mum.”
Nestled in the Hunter Valley, the retreat takes a holistic approach to health, exercise, and nutrition, encouraging guests to leave daily distractions at the door. On-site amenities to explore include indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, a fully equipped gymnasium, and scenic bushwalking tracks, with accommodation in private sanctuaries featuring king-sized beds, generous lounge areas, large deep baths, and private balconies with views over vineyards and rolling hills.
The retreat’s extensive Day Spa offers 26 treatment rooms, steam rooms and relaxation lounges, private sun gardens, and a purpose-built signature Watsu water therapy pool.
For those who enjoy spending time outdoors, golf enthusiasts (and beginners) can add a round at the adjacent 18-hole championship Cypress Lakes Golf Course to their mini break, mixing physical activity and some healthy competition with stunning views.
