Emirates unveils first electric Premium Economy privacy screen

Emirates has launched the world’s first electrically powered Premium Economy seat with a full-height adjustable privacy screen, debuting on newly received Airbus A350 aircraft.

New A350 cabin features full-height dividers and cradle recline

Installed in a 2-3-2 configuration with 28 seats, the electric privacy divider extends to the full height of the seat, the first feature of its kind in Premium Economy cabins worldwide. Customers can raise or lower the divider using seat controls, and seats recline into a cradle position without intruding on the row behind. Seats are 20 inches wide, with pitch of up to 39 inches on the A350.

The seat marks Emirates’ first fully electrically powered Premium Economy product, with an integrated Passenger Control Unit offering dedicated settings including lounge mode and meal mode. Additional comfort features include Safran Seats’ U-Dream leather headrest with adjustable wings, and a manually deployable leather footrest.

Wireless charging and 4K entertainment added for first time

Wireless charging has been introduced to Premium Economy for the first time, alongside USB-C charging at every seat and a tray table with an integrated phone holder. Customers can access Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system on a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen, with newly delivered A350 aircraft also featuring enhanced camera views, including new left and right exterior perspectives.

Wine program and amenity kits expand from September and October

From September, select routes will offer Chablis Premier Cru Jean-Marc Brocard 2024 and La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2014 in Premium Economy. From October, Wiston Estate Brut NV becomes Emirates’ first English sparkling wine, served exclusively on UK routes. Long-haul Premium Economy customers also receive reusable amenity kits made with bio-based materials, developed in partnership with United for Wildlife, now including Aveda plant-powered skincare products for the first time in the cabin.

For agents selling premium long-haul product, the new seat and expanded amenities reinforce Emirates’ Premium Economy positioning against competitor offerings, giving advisors a concrete point of difference for clients considering Premium Economy over standard Economy or Business Class on A350-operated routes.
