Flight Centre Travel Group has reported 92 per cent of corporate customers across FCM Travel, Corporate Traveller and Stage and Screen are now live on the Qantas New Distribution Capability platform, with more than 500,000 NDC segments booked since January 2026.
Rollout delivers measurable customer savings
The NDC partnership gives corporate travel managers access to enhanced content, including select NDC-enabled fares and ancillaries not available through traditional distribution channels. FCTG cited a case study showing one customer achieved an annual saving of more than $140,000 through the enhanced access.
FCM Travel and Corporate Traveller global manager of travel distribution Nikki Ping said NDC adoption had shifted from experimental to standard practice.
“We’ve reached a point where NDC isn’t an experiment – it’s becoming the default for corporate Australia,” Ping said.
“In a market where seats are harder to come by, and fares are under pressure, full NDC access means our customers aren’t leaving value on the table.”
Qantas head of offers and orders transformation Nathan Smeulders said the rollout reflected two years of collaborative development between the organisations.
“This isn’t just about distribution plumbing – it’s about giving customers more choice, more value, and a smoother journey from search to service,” Smeulders said.
International adoption doubles as focus shifts to AI
Qantas NDC adoption on international routes doubled month-on-month in mid-June 2026 following the launch of online connectivity, with Australia and New Zealand remaining the most-booked destinations through the channel. Ping said the next phase of development would focus on pairing order-level data with AI virtual assistants and agent-assist tools to automate routine changes.
“The result is a faster, smarter experience for the traveller – and greater savings that customers can channel straight back into growth,” Ping said.
