Sarah Clements recently travelled in Business Class aboard Fiji Airways flight FJ921 from Nadi to Brisbane, departing at 8:20am and arriving at 10:40am. Operating on the airline’s Airbus A330-200, this short international sector proved that even a flight of under four hours can feel relaxed, indulgent and thoroughly enjoyable.

On Board

From the moment I stepped onboard, the famous Fijian hospitality was evident. I was warmly welcomed by the cabin crew and escorted to my seat, where a hot towel was offered almost immediately, followed by a glass of Chandon Brut NV Rosé—a lovely way to begin the journey.

Seat 3K, located on the right-hand side of the cabin, offered plenty of personal space and excellent privacy. The Airbus A330 Business Class cabin has a calm, sophisticated feel, with comfortable seating and a layout that makes it easy to settle in for the flight.
Shortly after take-off, I sampled one of Fiji Airways’ signature cocktails, the Hugo Blue Turtle, a refreshing combination of elderflower, citrus, mint and Blue Turtle Gin, served with tonic water. It was light, crisp and perfectly suited to a morning departure from the islands. Breakfast cocktails are ok when on holiday.

Breakfast was beautifully presented and thoughtfully paced. The meal began with a vibrant pineapple, kale, ginger and lime smoothie, followed by wild honey yoghurt served with macadamia granola and macerated grapes. A warm bakery basket accompanied by Pepe Saya butter complemented the starters perfectly.

For the main course, I selected the apple-cinnamon pancakes, served with apple compote, honey syrup, and whipped butter. The pancakes were fluffy and comforting without being overly sweet, making them an excellent choice for breakfast. Combined with attentive yet unobtrusive service throughout the flight, the dining experience exceeded expectations for a relatively short journey.
The in-flight entertainment system offered a broad range of movies, television programs and music, while the cabin remained quiet and comfortable throughout the flight. Before long, the Queensland coastline appeared beneath us as we made our descent into Brisbane.
Frequent Flyer Program
Fiji Airways operates the Tabua Club loyalty program and has partnerships with several international airlines, allowing members to earn and redeem points across a growing network of destinations. The airline also maintains partnerships with a number of major carriers, providing additional flexibility for frequent travellers.
Top Tip

If you’re travelling solo, seat 3K is an excellent choice. It provides a private window position with easy aisle access while being close enough to the front of the cabin for prompt meal service. I also recommend trying one of Fiji Airways’ signature cocktails—they’re a refreshing taste of the islands before you even leave Fiji.
