G Adventures brings 13 ANZ agents to Cambodia for GX Summit

G Adventures will host its 2026 GX Summit in Cambodia on 27 September, with 13 of the company’s top-selling Australian and New Zealand travel agents joining around 650 global partners, suppliers and staff for the event.

The summit is run alongside G Adventures’ non-profit partner Planeterra and centres on community tourism. Speakers include Australian travel writer Nina Karnikowski, Judy Kepher Gona from Sustainable Travel and Tourism Africa, and Khadija Amahal, an Indigenous Amazigh community member and National Geographic Expedition Expert in Morocco, appearing as part of the newly launched National Geographic Signature with G Adventures collection.

Program includes community-based experiences across Cambodia

Ahead of the summit, attendees take part in a Festival Fair at Wat Phnom, a river cruise to a silk-weaving village supporting local artisans, lunch at a homestay near the Sambor Prei Kuk temple complex, and tuk tuk tours around Angkor Wat driven by Lady Tuk Tuk, an all-female driving team.

The summit itself includes a live recording of the Travel Trends podcast and contributions from local Cambodian community changemakers.

Bruce Poon Tip, founder of G Adventures, said the event reflected the company’s focus on community-based travel. “GX was built to celebrate the transformative impact travel can have when it’s done right, and we are so excited to bring the GX energy to Cambodia, a country defined by its incredible resilience, history, and warmth,” Poon Tip said.

Closing celebration at Bayon Temple

The week concludes with a private gathering at Bayon Temple, followed by a closing party featuring mashup artist DJ Earworm, known for his annual United States of Pop series.
