G Adventures is encouraging travellers to keep moving in 2025 with the launch of 25 new active adventures.
Building on the success of its active travel style, which saw a 16 per cent growth in 2024, the new trips take travellers beyond the usual trails to lesser-explored regions in Japan, South Africa, Pakistan, the Balkans, Morocco, the Galápagos and Peru.
Each itinerary is designed to offer immersive and adventurous experiences while supporting local communities. Travellers can hike, cycle, paddle and explore remote landscapes, from the high-altitude trails of Pakistan’s Karakoram Mountains to the hidden beaches and forests of Japan’s southern islands.
Exploring new destinations with active adventures
Among the new offerings, G Adventures is introducing eight trips in Japan, three in Morocco and two in Pakistan, a new destination for the company. Each trip falls into one of three physical grading categories: average, demanding and challenging, catering to travellers of varying fitness levels.
Sean Martin, managing director Australia, New Zealand and Asia at G Adventures, said the expansion reflects a growing demand for physically engaging travel experiences.
“Travellers are seeking authentic experiences, but active ones, too,” he said. “Interest has soared in this category, with more travellers wanting to switch off and connect with the world on a more physical level. We’ve hand-picked destinations with the intention of looking beyond the usual trails and, instead, are bringing travellers to lesser-visited regions and villages, via incredible hiking routes, kayak trips and biking excursions, helping to support local communities who haven’t been able to benefit from tourism in the past.”

Supporting local communities through adventure travel
While physically active, each trip is designed to be more than just an adventure. G Adventures is committed to dispersing tourism beyond traditional hotspots, ensuring that local communities benefit directly from travellers’ visits. Many trips include stays in locally owned guesthouses, cultural experiences with indigenous groups and opportunities to support small businesses.
The 25 new active trips are available for travel from March 2025.
