Gaylord Texan Resort will unveil a Harry Potter-themed edition of its signature ICE! attraction as part of its 22nd annual Lone Star Christmas celebrations, giving travel advisors a new family holiday experience to promote in the United States.
Running from 13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, the seasonal program will feature ICE! featuring Harry Potter for the first time, alongside the resort’s broader Christmas festivities.
Harry Potter comes to life in ice
The immersive attraction will feature more than 2 million pounds of hand-carved ice transformed into scenes inspired by the Harry Potter films.
Guests will journey through 10 themed rooms featuring locations including Hogsmeade Station, the Forbidden Forest, The Three Broomsticks, the Great Hall and Hogwarts Castle. The experience also includes six two-storey ice slides, live ice carving demonstrations and a Christmas Village retail store. The attraction is maintained at 9°C, with visitors provided signature blue parkas.
Resort-wide Christmas celebrations return
Beyond ICE!, Gaylord Texan’s Lone Star Christmas will once again transform the Grapevine resort with 2 million lights, a 54-foot Christmas tree, festive decorations, miniature trains and oversized toy soldiers.
The seasonal program also includes ice tubing, ice skating, snowball activities, gingerbread decorating, photos with Santa, storytelling with Mrs Claus, illusionist performances and character breakfasts, providing a wide range of experiences for families.
The annual ICE! attraction, created by Gaylord Hotels in 2001, is hand-carved by artisans from Harbin, China, and has become one of the brand’s signature Christmas experiences across multiple US resorts.
