GF ticketing updates for Iraq flight cancellations

Effective immediately, passengers holding Gulf Air (GF) tickets issued on or before 17th October 2024 for flights to or from Iraq, which were impacted by cancellations between 6th and 24th October, can now benefit from special rebooking and refund options.

Key options include:

  • Rebooking: Passengers may change their travel dates within 21 days of their original departure without additional fees.
  • Full Refunds: Unused tickets, including non-refundable ones, are eligible for a full refund, with all fees and service charges waived.
  • Partially Used Tickets:
    • The unused value will be refunded to the original form of payment.
    • No-show and refund fees will be waived.
    • Non-refundable taxes (excluding YQ/YR charges) will remain non-refundable.

For passengers preferring to reroute, the following airline options are available based on existing agreements:

  • Passengers travelling on 17th and 18th October 2024: First choice is Saudi Airlines (SV) and Qatar Airways (QR).
  • Passengers travelling to Europe on 19th October 2024: First choice is Lufthansa (LH), followed by Etihad Airways (EY).
  • Passengers travelling to the rest of the world: First choice is Etihad Airways (EY) and Fly Dubai (FZ). Emirates (EK) is the final alternative if no other options are suitable.
