Heritage Expeditions adds third ship, Heritage Discoverer

Heritage Expeditions marked the launch of its new 130-guest expedition ship, Heritage Discoverer, with a sold-out roadshow across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, previewing the vessel’s maiden 2027–28 season to Australian agents.

New vessel adds seven itineraries

Heritage Discoverer, formerly Silver Explorer, becomes the third vessel in Heritage Expeditions’ fleet, joining 140-guest flagship Heritage Adventurer and 18-guest expedition yacht Heritage Explorer. The ship’s inaugural voyage departs in May 2027, with a preview voyage scheduled for November 2026.

The roadshow previewed seven new itineraries for the ship, covering Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland; the Atlantic coast, British Isles, Faroe Islands, Scotland and Ireland; and a return to the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands and South Shetland Islands.

Roadshow reconnects with Australian trade

The events were led by commercial director and expedition leader Aaron Russ, alongside head of global sales Robert Halfpenny and Australian sales manager Chris le Roux, with additional team members joining individual city events. Russ said the roadshow gave the company a chance to reconnect with Australian agents ahead of the ship’s launch. “With exciting new itineraries exploring Europe and the Arctic, alongside our return to the Antarctic Peninsula, Heritage Discoverer offers an incredible range of authentic, new expedition experiences for agents to sell and travellers to discover,” Russ said.

For agents selling expedition cruising, the new vessel expands Heritage Expeditions’ capacity across both polar and Northern Hemisphere itineraries, giving advisors additional inventory across bucket-list regions from a single, family-owned operator with an established Southern Ocean track record.
