Hotel Review: Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne On Spencer

Accor’s 2nd Mövenpick hotel in Australia, the Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer is more of an experience than a simple hotel stay. With funky art deco design and experiences like Chocolate Hour, it is a hotel you can’t go past for your stay in Melbourne.

The Hotel

Forming the ‘podium’ of Melbourne’s iconic Premier Tower, the hotel’s stylish 172 rooms and suites cover floors 1 to 6, delivering a hotel experience that blurs the lines between art and design. An ode to Melbourne’s vibrant arts scene, the hotel showcases a collection of works from Melbourne’s best photographers including Steve Scalone and Sean Mcdonald.

The property has an open-air, heated swimming pool and sauna and hi-tech gym with all you need to stay fit while away from home. There are shuttle transfers, wi-fi throughout the hotel and is wheelchair accessible.

The Rooms

Each room is intuitively designed with modern features including 55″ TVs with BYO device connectivity and free WiFi. A great night’s sleep is guaranteed with premium linens and blackout curtains, while modern bathrooms focus on wellbeing with rain-showers and natural bath and body amenities from YUNI Beauty. Suites feature extra benefits including indulgent bathtubs that are so large, you will lose yourself in the bubbles. The rooms on offer include Classic King Room, Superior Room with King Bed, Superior Room with two Single Beds, Deluxe King Room, Superior Suite with King Size Bed and Standard Family Suite.

The Dining

At Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer you can enjoy world-class dining experiences, including Mövenpick’s famous daily ‘Chocolate Hour’.

Miss Mi Restaurant, winner of Good Food Chef’s Hat, is dynamic yet intimate, with the cuisine merging the exotic with the familiar. Feast on time-honoured Asian techniques, ingredients and flavours that are paired with modern methods that take you on a culinary journey to the heart of Asia. If you are after a drink in a social setting, Miss Mi Bar is the place to kick off the weekend or unwind after a day of exploring Melbourne. With a vibrant mural by Australian artist Steve Cross and the city lights as your backdrop, discover Asian-inspired libations and adventurous Asian snacks.

Grab a coffee at Mövenpick Café or enjoy Mövenpick’s world-famous ice cream (which is unlimited for children). Spoil yourself with decadent pralines from Melbourne chocolatiers Koko Black, Cacao and Ministry of Chocolate. Indulge in Chocolate Hour from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, daily. Hotel guests can indulge in complimentary chocolate-themed sweets that change daily, a must for serious chocolate lovers. Take it a step further and elevate the experience with the hotel’s famous Mövenpick ice cream parfait for $20.
