HX Expeditions joins CLIA Australasia as regional cruise member

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has welcomed HX Expeditions as its newest Regional Expedition/Ocean Cruise Line member in Australasia, strengthening the brand’s presence in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Supporting growth in the expedition cruise sector

The partnership brings HX into CLIA’s wider Australasian cruise community, which includes cruise lines, travel agents, destinations, ports, suppliers and industry stakeholders. As a member, HX will participate in CLIA’s training programs, trade events, and advocacy initiatives throughout the region.

CLIA Managing Director Joel Katz said, “HX is an important operator in one of the most dynamic areas of cruising worldwide, catering to explorers who are looking for incredible encounters with remote cultures, landscapes and wildlife. Expedition cruising is an area of remarkable innovation right now – especially in areas like conservation and sustainability – and so we’re delighted to have HX join our community at such an inspiring time.”

Amber Wilson, HX Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand, added, “HX has embarked on an exciting new phase in its 130-year history, and we are pleased to share that journey with CLIA and its 6,000-strong travel agent membership in Australia and New Zealand.”

Founded in 1896, HX operates a fleet of five modern ships visiting over 250 destinations in 30 countries. The company donates more than 1,900 cruise nights annually to onboard scientists and supports local communities through the HX Foundation.
