International Rail has expanded its offerings for 2025 with the inclusion of select premium bus services across Europe, designed to offer greater flexibility and seamless travel for Australian travellers.
While train travel remains the preferred mode of exploring Europe, International Rail is now offering carefully curated coach routes to help agents fill transport gaps where train services may be limited, indirect or unavailable. The initiative ensures clients can maintain smooth and efficient travel across borders and to less connected destinations.
“At International Rail, we always recommend rail as the most immersive way to travel Europe,” said Director Jonathan Hume.
“However, we recognise that some routes are better served by bus, particularly when direct rail options don’t exist. By adding a select number of premium coach services, we’re giving agents the tools to create a seamless, all-in-one itinerary for their clients.”
New premium bus services now available
New routes now available to book include:
- National Express (UK): Frequent services from Heathrow Airport to London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and Manchester.
- Alsa (Spain and Portugal): Long-distance services between key cities including Madrid–Lisbon, Seville–Faro, Porto–Salamanca, and Andorra–Barcelona and Andorra–Toulouse.
- Arriva (Croatia): Direct coach travel between Split and Dubrovnik, offering a scenic alternative to regional rail.
- Temporary replacement for Budapest–Belgrade: Due to ongoing trackwork throughout 2025, coach services will be offered as an alternative on this route.
All coach partners provide modern comforts such as free Wi-Fi, power outlets, entertainment systems and generous luggage storage.
One-stop-shop for European rail and beyond

The addition enables travel agents to confidently book complete ground transport packages for their clients, including rail passes, point-to-point tickets and now, practical coach connections.
