LA Tourism urges continued support following wildfires

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the city’s recovery following the recent wildfires, highlighting the crucial role tourism plays in the local economy.

Los Angeles Tourism president and CEO Adam Burke extended his gratitude to first responders and all those providing aid, while emphasising the resilience of the local community.

“Our hearts are with all Angelenos who have suffered loss during this incredibly difficult time, and we are grateful beyond words to the first responders and all who have provided aid to our community from across the country and around the world,” Burke said.

Tourism remains vital for recovery

With over 540,000 Angelenos working in the tourism sector and more than 1,000 local businesses reliant on visitors, Burke stressed the importance of continued travel to the city.

“In moments like these, tourism does more than drive our economy – it becomes a lifeline in supporting our community’s recovery,” he said.

Despite the wildfires, the vast majority of Los Angeles’ world-class attractions and tourism businesses remain fully operational, with the city continuing to welcome visitors for leisure, business, and conventions.

Dine LA to support wildfire relief efforts

Last week, Los Angeles Tourism launched the highly anticipated Dine LA program, inviting both locals and visitors to experience the city’s diverse culinary scene. This season’s event is directly contributing to wildfire relief efforts, with $5 from every Dine LA reservation donated to the American Red Cross, up to a total of $50,000.

Thanks to a matching contribution from Banc of California, the largest independent bank based in Los Angeles, the total possible donation will double to $100,000.

A resilient and welcoming destination

Burke reassured visitors that Los Angeles remains a vibrant and dynamic destination, offering everything from sports and entertainment to outdoor recreation, theme parks, and world-class dining.

“Our tourism partners are dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming experience for all, whether you’re a local enjoying a staycation or a guest from anywhere around the globe,” he said.

Los Angeles Tourism will continue to offer ways for travellers to engage with and support the city’s recovery efforts, as the community looks ahead to brighter days.
