LATAM Airlines Group will increase its non-stop flights from both Sydney and Melbourne to Santiago, Chile to daily services starting November and December 2025 respectively.
The decision follows a surge in demand for travel between Australia and South America, particularly from leisure and corporate travellers.
The increase in flights will offer Australian travellers seamless access to LATAM’s expansive South American network of 153 destinations across 27 countries. From the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia to the ancient wonders of Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands, travellers will now find it easier than ever to explore the continent.
LATAM relaunched its direct Sydney–Santiago service in October 2024 and will now increase it from three times per week to daily. Melbourne’s current thrice-weekly service will also shift to daily operations by December 2025, providing more flexibility and choice during the peak summer season.
More options for Australian travellers
Thibaud Morand, General Manager EMEA, Asia and South Pacific at LATAM Airlines Group, said the daily flights reflect the rising interest in South America as both a holiday and business destination.
“By offering daily departures from both Sydney and Melbourne, we’re giving our customers more flexibility, choice and convenience—whether they’re heading off on holiday or travelling for business,” Morand said.
The flight schedules are timed to connect with domestic arrivals, enabling same-day departures without overnight layovers.
Dreamliner comfort and convenience
The services will operate on LATAM’s modern Boeing 787-9 and 787-8 Dreamliners, with Premium Business and Economy cabins designed for comfort and long-haul efficiency. Passengers will enjoy features such as auto-dimming windows, dynamic lighting and spacious overhead storage.
