Darryl Kelly, Chair of Major Events Gold Coast has announced that Jan McCormick has been appointed as the inaugural CEO of the new entity established to develop and deliver major events on the Gold Coast.
Ms McCormick is the current CEO of Broadbeach Alliance, and in that role has been instrumental in the development of one of the Gold Coast’s iconic annual events, Blues on Broadbeach. Added to this she has in recent years developed the emerging country music festival Groundwater and a number of other major events that have helped put Broadbeach on the map as an event destination.
The appointment comes after an exhaustive recruitment process which attracted hundreds of applicants from around the country and overseas.
