Marriott International has announced it will debut The Ritz-Carlton brand in Fiji following the signing of an agreement with Luxurious Resort (Fiji) Pte Limited. Scheduled to open in 2030, The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay will be a flagship addition to Marriott’s growing luxury portfolio in the South Pacific.
The new-build 249-key resort will occupy a 28-hectare beachfront site along the Coral Coast of Viti Levu, just over an hour from Nadi International Airport. Positioned to be the most luxurious resort on Fiji’s main island, the property will offer private beachfront access and a setting that blends mountain jungle backdrops with expansive ocean views.
Redefining luxury on Fiji’s main island

The resort is expected to feature 166 guest rooms and suites, most with ocean views, and 83 villas—many with private plunge pools and outdoor decks. A 480-square-metre Presidential Villa is also in the works, complete with a private pool, large balcony and dedicated yoga lounge.
Plans include seven culinary experiences, as well as world-class wellness and recreation facilities. Guests will have access to two expansive pools, tennis courts, a yoga studio, a fully equipped fitness centre and The Ritz-Carlton Spa with eight treatment rooms, dip pools, sauna and salon.
A strategic move in luxury tourism
The development responds to increasing demand for high-end travel experiences across the Pacific. According to Marriott’s Luxury Group research, beach holidays remain the most popular vacation style for high-net-worth travellers, followed closely by nature and wellness-focused escapes.
Tristan Cooper, Director of Development for Marriott International in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, said the timing of the development aligns with strong occupancy across the company’s Fijian properties and growing demand among its global loyalty base.
“With our current resort portfolio in Fiji performing exceptionally well and more travellers seeking elevated experiences, The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay is positioned to deliver something truly exceptional,” said Cooper.
A world-class destination for MICE and weddings
Beyond leisure, the resort will also cater to the high-end events and incentive market, offering 1,320 square metres of indoor event space. Facilities will include a 590-square-metre ballroom, a junior ballroom, meeting rooms, and a 40-seat chapel—ideal for weddings and corporate retreats.
The new resort will join Marriott’s existing Fiji portfolio, which includes five operational and planned properties across Denarau Island, Tokoriki Island and Momi Bay.
