MEETINGS 2025 waterfront finale and big plans for NZICC in 2026

MEETINGS 2025 concluded in style on 13 June with a vibrant waterfront celebration at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre, capping off two dynamic days of networking and business at Auckland Showgrounds.

The exclusive “Regatta!” themed closing night welcomed 700 guests and highlighted Auckland’s sailing heritage, complete with a high-energy performance by Sonar Flare and a rooftop after-party at QT Auckland.

This year’s event drew over 1,200 attendees and delivered more than 8,000 meetings between exhibitors and buyers, reinforcing its status as a must-attend for the Asia-Pacific business events sector.

Lisa Hopkins, Chief Executive of Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA), said the showcase had exceeded expectations.

“The atmosphere has been fantastic. Buyers from New Zealand, Australia and beyond were wowed by the incredible depth and breadth of experiences from all corners of Aotearoa,” she said.

Buyers and exhibitors celebrate connections and opportunities

For first-time attendee Sarah Adams from TRIBE Travel and Events Australia, the event was a valuable opportunity.

“I’ve made wonderful connections for the future and discovered new options for everything from intimate incentives to large-scale events,” she said.

Angela Webster from Fable Hotels and Resorts noted the value of the show for building relationships.

“With all of New Zealand under one roof, MEETINGS reminds everyone how amazing the country is. It’s a great platform to update buyers and reconnect with industry peers,” she said.

2026 edition to debut at New Zealand International Convention Centre

Looking ahead, Hopkins confirmed MEETINGS 2026 will be held at the new NZICC on 17 and 18 June.

“We’re excited to be hosting next year’s event in the NZICC exhibition hall. It promises to be a landmark occasion for the business events industry,” she said.
