Brisbane tavel advisors get a taste of Western Australian Wine

Tourism Western Australia recently hosted a VIP wine tasting for 10 Queensland-based travel advisors at the Exhilarating Wines from Western Australia event in Brisbane on 18 August. The evening was designed to showcase the quality, diversity and breadth of wine experiences available to travellers across Western Australia with 35 of the state’s leading wineries in attendance.
Guests enjoyed a private tasting session featuring wines from some of WA’s most celebrated wine producers, with the opportunity to meet the wineries, learn more about their regions and discover trade-ready, bookable experiences that can be incorporated into Western Australian itineraries.

Michael Shah joins BEIA as Partnership & Exhibition Manager

Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA) has appointed respected hospitality and industry leader Michael Shah as its new Partnerships & Exhibition Manager. The newly expanded role combines leadership of the MEETINGS trade show with a stronger focus on commercial partnerships.
Michael will lead the continued development of the trade show component of MEETINGS, New Zealand’s largest business events exhibition, with responsibility for exhibitor recruitment, retention and the exhibitor experience. NZICC leads the way with landmark commitment to Te Haeata

International music industry delegates to descend on gold coast as Qmusic opens doors to global markets

Queensland’s music industry is set to strengthen its international connections this month, with QMusic bringing music industry delegates from the UK and Canada to the Gold Coast ahead of BIGSOUND 2026.
The international delegation will take part in a three-day Gold Coast program from 28–30 August, hosted by the City of Gold Coast in partnership with QMusic, before travelling to Brisbane for BIGSOUND from 1 to 4 September.
The program has been designed to give international music businesses a first-hand look at the Gold Coast’s growing music ecosystem, while creating opportunities for local artists, managers, labels, publishers and music industry professionals to build relationships and explore new business opportunities with international counterparts.
