Since it opened its doors in July 2018, Pullman Luang Prabang has successfully elevated the region’s MICE sector by blending outdoor experiences and socially-responsible activities with world-class meeting spaces – including the biggest ballroom in Luang Prabang.
Nestled in 16 hectares of beautiful countryside, surrounded by lush paddy fields, rivers and mountains, Pullman Luang Prabang is an idyllic five-star resort. Event organisers can choose from the 368 square metre Nam Khong Ballroom and 116 square metre Nam Khan function room, both of which can be divided into smaller spaces, and Le Salon, the intimate boardroom. This trio of flexible venues creates options for events of all sizes, from three to three hundred delegates.
MCEC remains Australia’s leading sustainable events destination
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) continues to build on its sustainability credentials with a range of initiatives delivering great outcomes for the venue.
MCEC’s Chief Operating Officer, Leighton Wood said the venue strives to be leaders in sustainable business practice, over the years leading the way with many sustainable initiatives.
As considerations such as waste minimisation are increasingly important to customers and event attendees, Mr Wood added “we have removed single use plastics from our retail outlets, eliminated bottled water in catering and are introducing fully biodegradable coffee cups and lids.”
In addition to this is MCEC’s partnership with OzHarvest which saw the redistribution of 38,660 meals (12,886 kilograms of food) through their food rescue donation program in 2018.

New event spaces for Cairns & Great Barrier Reef
A rooftop bar overlooking the Coral Sea and a pontoon on the outer reef are among the new event spaces in the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef region.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) General Manager Rosie Douglas said millions of dollars of investment was underway in tourism and events infrastructure in Cairns.
