Sunshine Coast to host the 2021 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards
The very best of Australia’s tourism industry will visit the Sunshine Coast for the 2021 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. Next year’s award ceremony will be held in March 2021 at the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre and is expected to attract more than 850 award finalists, tourism leaders and industry stakeholders from across the country. Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Simon Latchford described the announcement as a major coup for the region and ‘Team Sunshine Coast’.
“It’s a credit to the Sunshine Coast tourism industry as a whole and the collaborative efforts of the Queensland Government, Tourism and Events Queensland, Sunshine Coast Council, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council and Sunshine Coast Airport,” Mr Latchford said.
In the year-end September 2019 business and business events travel to the Sunshine Coast increased by a record 34.6 per cent, bringing 379,000 visitors to the region.
Business of Events cancelled
In following the advice issued by the Australian Government, The Business of Events will not proceed on the scheduled date of 19 March, 2020 at Luna Park, Sydney. Effective immediately, ticket sales are now suspended as they carefully working through the next steps to determine potential new dates for the event. Further information regarding the next course of action for ticket holders, exhibitors, speakers and sponsors will be communicated as soon as possible.
