Pearl Expeditions has confirmed the appointment of expedition cruising veteran Mick Fogg as General Manager and Head of Sustainability, marking a significant milestone in the development of the new luxury expedition cruise line.
The announcement sees Fogg reunited with Pearl Expeditions founder Sarina Bratton AM, following their previous collaboration at Orion Expedition Cruises and Ponant Explorations. The duo worked together for seven years, during which Fogg led more than 350 expeditions and played a key role in developing new destinations, establishing community relationships, and curating immersive onshore experiences.
“I am thrilled to have Mick join us at this important stage as we fine-tune our expedition experiences, often accessing rarely visited locations,” said Bratton.
“His expertise is second to none and he is a great addition to lead the team. Welcome aboard Mick.”
Redefining the essence of expedition cruising
Pearl Expeditions is the result of a recent partnership between Bratton and the Paspaley family, drawing on the prestige of one of Australia’s most iconic brands. The line will operate with a single vessel, the elegantly appointed 30-guest Paspaley Pearl, offering highly immersive small-ship expeditions to remote, pristine destinations.
Fogg said he was excited to return to the roots of true expedition cruising.

A broad and strategic role
Fogg’s role will encompass deployment and itinerary planning, government and community liaison, destination and cultural stewardship, commercial and marketing oversight, and the development of Pearl Expeditions’ sustainability initiatives.
