Minor Hotels to debut in Zimbabwe

Minor Hotels is set to expand its footprint in Africa with the introduction of Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe.

Opening on 1 December 2024, this marks the debut of both Minor Hotels and the Anantara Hotels & Resorts brand in Zimbabwe, complementing the existing Anantara Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel and creating a luxury offering on both sides of the Zambezi River.

Expanding Anantara’s presence in Africa

The launch of Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel strengthens Minor Hotels’ strategy to grow its presence in Africa. The property will become the seventh Anantara hotel in Africa and the Indian Ocean islands, followed by the highly anticipated opening of Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp in Zambia in 2025.

Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of Minor International, emphasised the brand’s commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.

“We are excited to announce the addition of a second Anantara property at Victoria Falls, showcasing our dedication to growing our luxury Anantara brand in Africa. An elegant boutique hotel in a strategic location close to one of Southern Africa’s most iconic attractions, Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel embodies our commitment to deliver peerless hospitality and distinctive experiences in the world’s most desirable locations.”

Boutique luxury in a prime location

Situated within a conservation area just 15 minutes from Victoria Falls, the 16-suite boutique hotel provides a serene retreat with stunning surroundings. Each suite can be configured as a double or twin, and interconnected options offer private two-bedroom accommodation for families.

Guests can enjoy facilities such as a gourmet restaurant serving meals indoors, on the terrace, or in the gardens, alongside a lounge and bar offering a wide selection of beverages. A garden pool with shaded loungers and complimentary Wi-Fi ensures relaxation and connectivity.

Activities at Victoria Falls

Guests of Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel will have access to a wide range of activities at and around Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Natural Wonder of the World. Options include:

  • Boat trips to Devil’s Pool at the edge of the Falls.
  • Zip-lining across Batoka Gorge.
  • Helicopter flights over the Falls.
  • Wildlife-spotting sunset cruises on the Zambezi River.

Additional experiences include game drives and black rhino conservation programs at the Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, which can be organised through the hotel’s concierge. Complimentary transfers to Victoria Falls town, Victoria Falls International Airport, and Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport ensure seamless access.

Strengthening a legacy of luxury hospitality

Anantara Hotels & Resorts currently operates over 50 properties globally, with a pipeline of new developments in destinations such as Saudi Arabia and Brazil. Known for immersive travel experiences, the brand blends luxury with cultural authenticity to create unforgettable journeys.

Minor Hotels operates 27 properties across nine African countries under its Anantara, Avani, NH, and Elewana Collection brands. With the addition of Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel, the group continues its mission to provide world-class hospitality in extraordinary locations.
