In line with traveller concerns regarding the global outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), more cruise lines have developed policies designed to provide ‘peace of mind’ and ‘reassurance’ around booking and cancellation policies.
NCL
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced its new Peace of Mind policy, offering guests who book voyages through 30 September, 2020 the opportunity to cancel up to 48 hours prior to the sail date and receive a 100% future cruise credit for use on any sailings through 31 December, 2022.
The new offer applies to all new guests, as well as those already booked on voyages beginning 10 March, 2020.
“We understand travellers are thinking carefully about their next vacation, and we are here to reassure them that now is the right time to start planning,” said Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line, the innovator in global cruise travel. “Taking time off is important. It allows us to reconnect with the ones that mean the most to us. As a matter of fact, this summer, I’m looking forward to cruising to Europe with my family and discovering the incredible destinations we will visit together. I encourage our guests to do the same and to feel confident in spending their valuable time off with us.”
Oceania Cruises
Oceania Cruises has announced a new Traveler’s Assurance booking policy, effective immediately for all existing and new bookings made by 30 April 2020 for any voyages departing between 10 March 2020 to 30 September 2020.
Guests and travel partners can now cancel, for any reason, without losing a dollar. Guests may cancel up to 48 hours prior to cruise departure and will receive a Future Cruise Credit equal to 100% of the cruise fare paid.
Additionally, consumers and travel advisors can book with confidence knowing that up to the day of sailing, should there be another applicable public promotion that offers a better value through amenities or price, they may take advantage of that promotional offer and/or price.
“Choosing to travel is both a very personal choice and substantial investment of time and money. In today’s current environment of ever-changing world events, travelers are seeking peace of mind when booking a vacation,” stated Bob Binder, President & Chief Executive Officer of Oceania Cruises.
