The NSW Government reopened its borders to Victoria at 12:01am AEDT this morning, 23 November 2020, with no further requirements for border permits or mandatory quarantine for residents of Victoria travelling into NSW.
“Whether people travelling from Victoria will be allowed to enter other states after passing through NSW is for those states to decide,” said NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
In Victorian news, Premier Daniel Andrews announced yesterday that certain restrictions would be eased in the state, including mandatory masks outside. Mr Andrews said masks will still be required to be worn indoors and also outdoors if social distancing is not possible. He urged all Victorians to carry a mask with them at all times when they leave the home.
From 11.59pm AEDT last night, Victorian residents will be allowed 15 visitors to their homes each day, rising to 30 visitors from 11.59pm AEDT 13 December 2020.
Premier Andrews also tipped a slow, and safe, return to the workplace for the many who have been working from home during lockdown.
