Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites has added the alpine jewel of Oaks Lake Crackenback Resort to its growing New South Wales portfolio, marking a strategic expansion into the Snowy Mountains. Just 15 minutes from Thredbo and Perisher, the newly acquired resort provides a year-round mountain escape tailored to snow lovers, wellness seekers and nature enthusiasts alike.

Nestled on the edge of Kosciuszko National Park, the resort offers 110 accommodation options – from studios to chalets – with many featuring fireplaces, outdoor dining spaces, and sweeping views of Lake Crackenback and the surrounding peaks. Guests can enjoy an impressive list of on-site activities, including mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, archery, fishing, golf and trampolining, with snow gear and outdoor equipment available from the Harro’s Centre.
Additional facilities include an indoor heated pool, sauna, gym, a Spa & Wellness Centre, and two dining venues – all set against a backdrop of natural beauty. For event organisers, the resort’s scenic event spaces offer a memorable setting for weddings, retreats and corporate functions.

Minor Hotels Australasia COO Craig Hooley said the property supports Oaks’ repositioning as a lifestyle brand, focused on experience-based travel.

“Beyond the ski season, we’ll introduce a reimagined lobby with local produce, barista coffee and fresh-baked goods – including the iconic Oaks lamington.”
The acquisition comes as part of a rapid expansion for Minor Hotels, following six new properties joining the group in 2025 alone.
