Travel agents in Australia and New Zealand can now book point-to-point rail tickets on Japan’s most popular routes directly via International Rail’s website, eliminating the need for email-based bookings.
This major update from Australia’s leading independent rail travel provider streamlines the reservation process, offers lower pricing, and includes agent commissions.
Streamlined system improves access and savings
The newly launched online booking platform allows agents to secure rail tickets with greater flexibility and efficiency. Key features include the ability to select preferred travel times in 15-minute increments, book up to 120 days in advance, and receive manually issued tickets once trains open for sale 30 days prior to departure.
Jonathan Hume, owner and CEO of International Rail, said, “We’ve seen growing demand for Japan rail travel, and simplifying the booking process was the next logical step. This new online system not only enhances efficiency but also delivers meaningful cost savings to both agents and travellers.”
Full suite of Japan transport options
This upgrade complements International Rail’s broader suite of Japan travel products, which includes the popular Japan Rail Pass, regional transport passes, and bus services from Nagoya to Hakuba. While the new system covers popular routes, agents can still contact International Rail directly for custom or unlisted services.
