Pan Pacific Perth appoints Rens Breur as GM

Pan Pacific Perth has announced the appointment of Rens Breur as General Manager, bringing over 30 years of global hospitality leadership to the role as the hotel prepares to unveil its $50 million transformation this May.

Breur, a familiar figure in the Australian hotel landscape, joins at a pivotal time as the landmark Perth property embarks on a bold new chapter. The extensive refurbishment will introduce reimagined guestrooms, the city’s largest hotel event space, and a renewed focus on sustainable luxury.

“It’s an honour to lead the team at Pan Pacific Perth at such a defining moment,” said Breur.

“This transformation represents more than a renovation—it marks the beginning of a new era. With our fresh offering and commitment to delivering meaningful hospitality, I am excited to welcome guests to experience a reimagined Pan Pacific Perth.”

Breur’s career spans leadership roles at The Langham Melbourne, Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach, and Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, where he was part of the opening team. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Hotel Operations & Development at Fine Hotels in The Netherlands, overseeing six properties with significant food and beverage and MICE operations.

David Tonkin, Country General Manager, Oceania for Pan Pacific Hotels Group, said Breur’s appointment is a major step as the hotel enters its next phase.

“We’re delighted to welcome Rens to the Pan Pacific Perth family,” Tonkin said.

“His extensive international experience, combined with a deep understanding of the Australian market, makes him the ideal leader to guide the hotel’s repositioning in Perth and nationally.”

Breur’s background also includes senior roles across esteemed brands such as Relais & Châteaux, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Langham Hotels, and the Accor/Sofitel Group, with assignments across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
