PATA appoints five to Executive Board

PATA has appointed five new members to its Executive Board, including representatives from Hawaii Tourism Authority, Booking.com, Visit Maldives, Saudi Tourism Authority and Explore Himalaya, completing the board’s full composition.

Board gains public and private sector voices

Jennifer Chun, director of tourism research at Hawaii Tourism Authority, joins as secretary/treasurer. Yang Li, head of public affairs for APAC at Booking.com, and Ibrahim Shiuree, chief executive and managing director of Visit Maldives Corporation, join as elected executive board members.

Alhasan Aldabbagh, president of APAC at Saudi Tourism Authority, and Suman Pandey, group chairman of Explore Himalaya Travel & Adventure, join as non-voting executive board members. Pandey has previously held leadership roles within PATA.

Henry Oh, PATA chairman, said the board is now fully constituted. “We look forward to drawing on their diverse experience, knowledge and perspectives as we continue to strengthen PATA and support collaboration across our membership and the wider tourism industry,” Oh said.

Appointments broaden destination and technology representation

The new appointments add perspectives spanning island destination tourism, digital travel distribution and adventure travel, alongside existing board members from organisations including Amadeus, Centara Hotels & Resorts, Sarawak Tourism Board and DASTA.

For PATA members and the wider Asia Pacific travel trade, a fully constituted board with representation across destination marketing organisations, OTAs and tour operators signals broader industry input into PATA’s strategic direction, including its work on knowledge-sharing, networking and sustainable tourism development across the region.
