Prime Minister Scott Morrison appeared on a Facebook livestream yesterday saying he has been discussing with new NSW Premier Dominic Perottet the fast-tracking of the start date for international travel for people who are fully vaccinated. Previously, the PM had said the states and territories would be permitted to open to fully vaccinated international travellers again in mid-November, however, the fast-tracking the NSW roadmap has led to speculation the new date may be as soon as 1 November 2021.
With NSW looking at a home quarantine program instead of hotel quarantine, Morrison said the Federal Government was discussing opening international borders into NSW “sooner”.
