PONANT EXPLORATIONS appoints Nicolas Gronier as Chief Marketing Officer

PONANT EXPLORATIONS has appointed former Accor executive Nicolas Gronier as Chief Marketing Officer, strengthening its global leadership team as the luxury expedition cruise line pursues its long-term growth strategy.

Effective from 29 June 2026, Gronier will lead the company’s newly established global marketing organisation as part of its Commercial and Growth division, with responsibility for brand, digital marketing, product marketing, customer insights and strategic partnerships.

Leadership appointment supports growth strategy

The appointment forms part of PONANT EXPLORATIONS’ North Star strategic plan, which aims to strengthen customer loyalty, drive new customer acquisition and support growth across key international markets.

Gronier brings more than 20 years’ experience across France and Australia, having held senior marketing roles spanning luxury retail, hospitality and cultural institutions. His previous roles include leading brand and digital transformation at the Sydney Opera House before joining Accor, where he oversaw the global repositioning of the Sofitel brand.

Focus on brand and customer experience

PONANT EXPLORATIONS Deputy CEO Commercial & Growth Belinda Hindmarsh said Gronier’s experience would support the company’s next phase of development.

“Nicolas joins PONANT EXPLORATIONS at a pivotal moment in our growth journey. His extensive experience across luxury and hospitality, combined with his strategic approach to marketing and growth, will play a key role in delivering on our ambitions and strengthening the relationships we build with our guests around the world,” Hindmarsh said.

Gronier said he was looking forward to building on the company’s position in the luxury expedition sector while strengthening guest engagement and supporting sustainable growth.
