Qantas Frequent Flyers can now use their points to book reward seats on Hawaiian Airlines flights, thanks to a new partnership that expands the national carrier’s global rewards offering.
From Thursday, members will be able to redeem Qantas Points on flights across Hawaiian Airlines’ international and domestic network, including all four major Hawaiian Islands, 15 cities across the mainland United States and 10 international destinations.
The announcement builds on the launch of Qantas’ new Melbourne–Honolulu route in May and marks the official rollout of the strategic alliance between the two carriers, first announced in January 2025.
More points, more choice
“Hawaii is one of our most popular destinations, and this partnership gives Frequent Flyers even more flexibility to use their points for travel to Honolulu and beyond,” said Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance.
The partnership comes at a time when reward travel is booming, with the number of Classic Reward seats booked with partner airlines doubling over the past five years. Qantas Frequent Flyers currently redeem an average of 17,000 reward seats daily—including 1,000 premium cabin seats to international destinations.
Classic Reward seats with Hawaiian Airlines will be available for same-day connections from Sydney and Auckland to North American hubs like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, thanks to Hawaiian’s recent merger with Alaska Airlines.
More benefits ahead
In addition to reward seat access, Qantas Frequent Flyers will earn Qantas Points and Status Credits when travelling on Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights that carry a QF flight number. A bilateral codeshare agreement is also in place, offering smoother connectivity within Hawaii and mainland U.S. cities.
Looking ahead, Hawaiian Airlines is expected to join the oneworld alliance in 2026, further enhancing loyalty benefits for members across the global network.
“Hawaiian Airlines has proudly served Australia for over two decades,” said Alex Judson, Managing Director of Partnerships and International at Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines.
“This partnership with Qantas enables more Australians to experience our warm, authentic hospitality from the moment they board.”
Hawaiian Airlines operates non-stop services between Sydney and Honolulu with its Airbus A330 aircraft, featuring lie-flat seats in the Premium Cabin and spacious Economy seating options.
