Regent Hotels & Resorts has unveiled its latest luxury property, Regent Bali Canggu, marking the brand’s return to Indonesia and its first opening in the country since IHG Hotels & Resorts acquired Regent in 2018. Nestled along Bali’s coveted southwestern coast, the new resort offers an opulent escape on Canggu Beach, combining Balinese charm with Regent’s renowned elegance.
A luxurious beachfront retreat
Regent Bali Canggu features 150 suites and villas, many with sea or garden views and direct lagoon access. The all-suites and villas resort showcases thoughtful design, with entry-level Studio Suites starting from 818 square feet, featuring oasis bathrooms with hand-carved teak bathtubs and rain showers.
For those seeking ultimate luxury, the Two Bedroom Penthouse Oceanfront with Private Pool spans 6,652 square feet, complete with a fully equipped kitchen, a private terrace, and a 322-square-foot infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean. The One Bedroom Beachfront Villa offers 3,519 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, with dedicated pantry services and Regent Club advantages.
Spaces rooted in Balinese spirit
The resort, designed by Wimberly, Allison, Tong, and Goo (WATG), spans 14 acres and integrates Balinese architectural elements with modern luxury. The use of timber and andesite stone reflects the island’s natural resources, while interior design by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) showcases vibrant colours, textiles, and Balinese craftsmanship.
John Pettigrew’s landscape design incorporates local flora and reclaimed materials, blending the resort harmoniously with its surroundings.
A diverse dining experience
Regent Bali Canggu offers five distinctive dining venues, including:
- Taru: The signature restaurant serving authentic Indonesian dishes such as rendang sapi and udang bakar woku.
- Sazón: A Spanish tapas bar led by award-winning Chef Andrew Walsh, offering dishes like squid-ink-based paella and octopus and potato espuma.
- Cure: Opening later in 2025, this venue will present modern European cuisine infused with Asian influences.

Wellness and relaxation
The world’s first Regent Spa, opening in late 2025 in partnership with Raison d’Etre, will blend French beauty treatments with traditional Balinese wellness practices. The spa will feature scrubs, wraps, and massages using Kerstin Florian products, alongside a Beauty Hub and a Health Club with yoga, stretching, and Technogym equipment.
Guests can also enjoy the resort’s nine pools, each with private cabanas.
