Destination Canada and the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) have kicked off Rendez-vous Canada+ (RVC+) 2022 in Toronto, with this year offering a unique hybrid format of in-person and virtual meetings.
RVC+ will see over 500 international travel buyers from Destination Canada’s key market join with more than 750 tourism industry delegates from 450 Canadian organizations, representing destinations and experiences from coast to coast to coast.
John Tory, Mayor of Toronto, officially welcomed all delegates of RVC+2022 to Toronto and there was a special Opening Ceremony where members of the local Indigenous communities welcomed delegates to their lands and open the RVC Marketplace floor in good spirit.
RVC+ hosted more than 16,556 meetings across the first day, offering buyers and sellers a chance to forge meaningful connections
The evening was wrapped up with a special Canada Night at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Delegates mingled with new and old RVC+ friends and colleagues over delicious food and great entertainment. With thirteen provinces and territories in the spotlight, Canada Night was a celebration from coast to coast to coast.
Now more than ever, events like RVC+ are vital in supporting the recovery of Canada’s tourism sector in the years ahead, driving prosperity back into local businesses and their communities.
