Saudi Arabia’s new national airline, Riyadh Air, has unveiled its first cabin interiors, positioning itself as a serious rival to Middle Eastern heavyweights such as Emirates and Qatar Airways.
With a bold vision and premium product offering, the airline is set to disrupt the Gulf aviation market when it launches in late 2025.
The airline’s first Business Elite suites were revealed aboard its Boeing 787 Dreamliner, showcasing cutting-edge design and technology. Highlights include 32-inch entertainment screens—believed to be the largest in business class—and suites that convert into fully flat double beds, echoing the luxury standards set by Qatar Airways’ Qsuite.
While the airline initially ruled out first class for its Dreamliners due to ongoing supply chain challenges, executives are now open to adding first-class suites on future wide-body aircraft, including the Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X.
Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas has indicated these aircraft will “almost certainly” include first-class cabins, further enhancing the airline’s premium credentials.
The launch of Riyadh Air is part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 strategy to diversify its economy and elevate tourism. The airline’s goal is to transform Riyadh into a major regional hub, competing head-to-head with the established mega-hubs in Dubai and Doha.
Despite facing delays in aircraft deliveries, Riyadh Air remains on track for take-off in the final quarter of 2025. With a strong focus on luxury, innovation, and connectivity, the airline is poised to redefine the premium travel experience in the Gulf—and reshape the region’s aviation landscape.
