Rocky Mountaineer has launched Rockies Refined, a new 10-day luxury package for the 2027 season that pairs its First Passage to the West rail route with Fairmont hotel stays, private touring and premium transfers across Western Canada.
Package combines rail journey with Fairmont stays
Rockies Refined is built around two days aboard Rocky Mountaineer’s First Passage to the West route in GoldLeaf service, Rocky Mountaineer’s premium onboard tier. The remaining days are spent off-train, with guaranteed Fairmont Gold Rooms throughout the journey, including a limited allocation of Lakeview Rooms at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
The itinerary runs between Vancouver, Lake Louise, Banff and Calgary and can be booked in either direction. Travelling eastbound, guests start with two nights at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver before boarding the train towards Kamloops and on to the Rockies. The route continues to two nights at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, a stay at Fairmont Banff Springs, and finishes in Calgary at the Fairmont Palliser, with a private transfer to Calgary International Airport. The westbound version operates in reverse.
Private airport transfers in Vancouver and Calgary, along with private sightseeing tours and transfers between destinations, are included as part of the package, removing the need for guests to arrange their own logistics between stops.
New tier gives advisors a premium sell for 2027
Rockies Refined is positioned above Rocky Mountaineer’s standard First Passage to the West product, giving advisors a higher-yield package to sell for 2027 Canada bookings, particularly for clients seeking guaranteed room categories and a fully escorted experience rather than a self-guided one. The Lakeview Rooms at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise are a drawcard in their own right, given their limited availability and popularity among repeat Canada travellers.
With the package now on sale and availability limited for the 2027 season, agents with clients considering a Canadian Rockies rail holiday have a narrower booking window than for standard rail departures.
