Rocky Mountaineer has undergone a rebrand with all U.S routes now operating under the new brand Canyon Spirit, while the parent company will be known as Armstrong Collective.
In addition to the rebrand, Canyon Spirit will also be expanding its Rockies to the Red Rocks route to include Salt Lake City, Utah, starting in 2026. This exciting new addition will transform the journey into a breathtaking three-day luxury train experience, connecting from Denver, Colorado to Salt Lake City.
A new chapter for Canyon Spirit
Previously operating under the Rocky Mountaineer brand in the United States, the train has now rebranded as Canyon Spirit, reflecting its commitment to showcasing the region’s striking scenery. Rocky Mountaineer will continue to operate in Canada under its parent company, Armstrong Collective, which now oversees both brands.
“We could not be more excited to bring our Canyon Spirit train to Salt Lake City and expand our Rockies to the Red Rocks route further into the beautiful state of Utah,” said Tristan Armstrong, CEO of Armstrong Collective.
“Although the name of our US train is changing, our world-class service and onboard experience will remain the same. Our team looks forward to sharing the beauty of the American Southwest with even more guests from across the United States and around the world.”
A new three-day itinerary
The Rockies to the Red Rocks Extension will include overnight stays in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and Moab, Utah, allowing travellers to experience these scenic destinations. The additional day of train travel will take guests through eastern Utah’s mountain passes and across the vast Great Basin before arriving in Salt Lake City.
This new itinerary will operate alongside the existing two-day route between Denver and Moab. The extended journey begins 21 April 2026, with weekly westbound departures from Denver and eastbound departures from Salt Lake City.
