Royal Davui Island Resort, the Fijian-owned and operated adults-only private island retreat, is celebrating 20 years in 2025. The resort marks this milestone with a renewed commitment to sustainable, authentic luxury, having welcomed 158,370 guests, served 395,925 kava bowls, and prevented 327,848 plastic bottles from entering the environment.
Multi-million dollar refurbishment enhances island retreat
In 2024, Royal Davui completed a multi-million dollar refurbishment, transforming every aspect of the resort. Under the guidance of owner Christopher Southwick, renovations enhanced the signature Banyan Bar & Restaurant, built around an ancient banyan tree, while all 16 private villas, each with a plunge pool, now offer an even more seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living.
As the premier adults-only retreat in the South Pacific, Royal Davui continues to combine exclusivity with environmental responsibility, setting the benchmark for barefoot luxury.

To commemorate its 20-year anniversary, Royal Davui has announced a special Celebrate 20 Years of Davui package. Priced at $20,000 FJD ($13,700 AUD) for a five-night stay in a Lagoon Plunge Pool Bungalow, the offer is valid for travel between 1 April and 31 October 2025. It includes:

A legacy of responsible tourism
Royal Davui has built its reputation on responsible luxury, sourcing 80 per cent of its ingredients locally, protecting the one-kilometre marine sanctuary surrounding the island, and fostering strong ties with the local community on Beqa Island. Many team members hail from nearby villages, offering guests an authentic Fijian experience.
This commitment to sustainability has earned the resort numerous accolades, including Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice awards, Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards, Hotel Management Awards, and recognition as the number six best adults-only resort in the world by USA Today.
