Santa Monica pitches Super Bowl and LA28 access

Santa Monica Travel & Tourism engaged more than 100 industry leaders and luxury travel advisors across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland on a roadshow highlighting premium event access ahead of Super Bowl LXI in 2027 and the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

On Location partnership adds premium event packages

SMTT representatives Rachel Lozano and Aleksandr Sigalus were joined by On Location head of global luxury sales Kier Matthews for bespoke sales calls with advisors and wholesalers throughout the roadshow. The partnership connects travellers with official premium hospitality packages for major Southern California sporting events, positioning a Santa Monica stay alongside access to Super Bowl LXI and the LA28 Games.

The roadshow’s timing coincided with the NFL’s Melbourne fixture between the San Francisco 49ers and LA Rams, with SMTT using the moment to demonstrate the pairing of event access with Santa Monica’s coastal offering. VIP events were held at venues including Café Sydney and Stokehouse in Melbourne, alongside an exclusive breakfast with senior Flight Centre Travel Group executives in Brisbane.

Destination points to $200m in hotel investment

SMTT highlighted Santa Monica’s eight neighbourhoods and 5.5-kilometre coastline, with the destination’s hotel sector recording more than $200 million in recent investment and upgrades. SMTT president and chief executive Misti Kerns said Australia and New Zealand remained priority markets for the destination.

“Australia and New Zealand continue to be among our most valuable markets, particularly within the luxury travel space where travellers are seeking authentic coastal experiences, exceptional dining and personalised itineraries,” Kerns said.
