Silversea Cruises’ Director of Sales, Australia and New Zealand, Steve Richards, says the cruise line’s refund and cancellation policy has been designed to reassure agents that they have support in “every circumstance that may arise as the world adjusts to COVID-19.”
The policy takes into account border restrictions that may be imposed, to provide greater certainty and reduce risk for trade partners and travellers. It is applicable to any and all bookings made prior to 30 November 2021, and will apply to Silversea Cruises sailings booked in Asia Pacific. The policy reassures guests that if the extenuating circumstances are such that they are prevented or prohibited from travelling to the vessel by Government order, but the cruise isn’t cancelled by Silversea, they will be entitled to a full refund or a 110% FCC for the cruise fare paid.
For example, this would apply if the local area is placed into lockdown or the country guests are travelling to or from is on a restricted list, or if they are subject to Government-mandated quarantine.
Further, if a guest or someone in their Travelling Party cancels because they test positive for COVID-19, is a close contact of a confirmed positive COVID-19 case, or Silversea deems them unfit for travel within 30 days before embarkation, they will be entitled to a refund for the cruise fare paid or a 100% FCC of equal value.
Guests can also be reassured by Silversea’s “Cruise with Confidence” programme that allows guests to cancel their cruise up to 30 days prior to departure for all voyages until 31 May 2022 (excluding World Cruise), without penalties when selecting a Future Cruise Credit on booking made prior to 30 November 2021.
“At Silversea, we have seen strong interest in Australia and New Zealand for Mediterranean voyages in 2022, and this policy will add peace of mind for travellers and trade alike to book now,” said Richards.
