Singapore Airlines $45 mil upgrade to Changi Terminal 2 lounges

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is investing S$45 million (approx. AUD$51 million) in a major revamp of its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2, aiming to elevate the customer experience with more space, upgraded facilities, and refined service offerings.

Renovations begin on 15 April 2025 and will be completed in phases through to mid-2027. Once complete, the new lounges will feature 50 percent more space and seating, along with hallmark elements from SIA’s acclaimed Terminal 3 lounges—including expanded dining options and upgraded relaxation areas.

The First Class SilverKris Lounge will boast a high-ceilinged layout with floor-to-ceiling windows and a redesigned bar offering barista-made coffee by day and premium cocktails by night. Guests will enjoy live cooking stations featuring Singaporean, Asian, and Western dishes, complemented by an expanded buffet selection.

The Business Class SilverKris Lounge will grow by 30 percent, introducing rest zones with recliners, a reimagined living area with flexible seating options, and a new full-service bar. Designed to support both productivity and relaxation, the lounge will cater to diverse traveller needs with dedicated workspaces and varied seating arrangements.

Doubling space for KrisFlyer Gold members

KrisFlyer Gold members will benefit from a lounge that doubles in capacity, with amenities including new in-lounge restrooms and shower suites. The refreshed space will also offer a mix of workstations, dining areas, and armchairs to ensure a more comfortable pre-flight experience.

SIA’s Senior Vice President Customer Experience, Mr Yeoh Phee Teik, said, “This significant investment underscores Singapore Airlines’ unwavering commitment to elevating the end-to-end travel experience for our customers… We are extending our signature hospitality and thoughtfully curated offerings to Terminal 2.”

To minimise disruption, the upgrades will be staged over several phases, beginning with the First Class SilverKris Lounge in April 2025 and concluding with the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge in 2027.
