Sno’n’Ski agents hit the slopes on epic Colorado famil

Sno’n’Ski Holidays has wrapped up a nine-night mega famil in Colorado, giving 30 Australian and New Zealander travel agents the chance to experience the state’s world-class ski resorts, vibrant cities and unique cultural offerings.

Hosted by Colorado Tourism Office with support from its Australian representation firm, Linkd Tourism, the famil took place from 22 February to 3 March. The agents earned their spot through a partnership incentive between Colorado Tourism and Sno’n’Ski Holidays last year.

A taste of Colorado’s best experiences

From whisky tasting in Vail to a scavenger hunt in Steamboat Springs and snowmobiling in Telluride, the itinerary showcased Colorado’s diverse offerings. Agents also took part in a Denver city walking tour, Kemo Sabe® hat-making, après experiences and a pub crawl in Aspen Snowmass.

Emily Porter, national sales manager for Sno’n’Ski Holidays, said the famil provided invaluable first-hand knowledge for future client itineraries.

“We learnt that Colorado’s people, each mountain’s unique personality, and 300 days of sunshine create an energy like no other destination. The whole trip was nothing short of extraordinary,” Porter said.

Exploring Denver as a gateway to the slopes

For the first time in a Sno’n’Ski mega famil, Denver was included as a gateway destination. Liz Birdsall from Colorado Tourism Office, who co-hosted the famil alongside Linkd Tourism account manager Jack Curtis, said the addition of the city was a key part of the itinerary.

“With Denver being a mile above sea level, it’s the ideal stop for visitors before heading to the higher altitude in the mountains,” Birdsall said.

The group explored Colorado’s top resorts back-to-back, experiencing Steamboat’s laid-back ranching community, the rich World War II history of Vail, and the renowned snow sports and cultural scene of Aspen and Snowmass. The famil wrapped up in Telluride, a charming western-style town known for its cinematic backdrop.

“We were absolutely thrilled to have Sno’n’Ski select Colorado as its Mega Fam destination,” Birdsall said. “Our long-standing relationship with the ANZ market makes this kind of activity essential in ensuring Colorado remains a top choice for winter travellers.”
