The COVID-19 Sydney cluster continues to grow, largely centred in and around hotspot venues in the CBD and Eastern Suburbs, with other hotspots including in the Wollongong region, Northwest Sydney and venues in the Inner West.

NSW Health has made mask wearing mandatory on all public transport in Greater Sydney and Wollongong (at this stage exclusive of the Central Coast and Blue Mountains.) From 4:00pm AEST yesterday, Sunday 20 June 2021, residents of and visitors to seven (7) LGAs – City of Sydney, Inner West, Randwick, Bayside, Canada Bay, Waverley and Woollahra – must wear masks in all indoor settings, including retail, until Thursday 24 June 2021, although NSW Health has flagged that this advice may change depending on community transmission in the coming days.
“It applies to all indoor venues, excluding when you’re eating and drinking — so if you’re going shopping, to the cinema, sitting at a conference, any place where you can’t guarantee social distancing proximity with others,” said NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
