Managing Director of Nomade Unique Experiences South America, Benjamin Garcia Cantolla is passionate about South America and is offering an open invitation to contact Nomade Unique Experiences South America.
“We are here to help, to support your sales and marketing strategy and to deliver unique experiences to every traveller,” Benjamin says.
Travel Monitor had a chat with Benjamin, discussing all things travel and the industry, and this is what he had to say.
What does your job involve?
We work in 3 main strategic pillars:
- Commercial Strategies: we develop strong commercial plans with wholesalers in Australia to make sure our portfolio is part of their structural offer.
- Destination and product development: we set up detailed and unique educational programs to help travel agents feel confident when selling South America (Nomade Ambassador Program).
- Marketing & Media: we develop dedicated marketing plans to increase the awareness of both the destination and our products to the final consumer.
What do you enjoy most about your profession?
Sharing my knowledge and making sure each traveller that chooses to use any product in our portfolio will have a truly unique experience.
What are the biggest challenges for you in your profession?
Being able to reach every travel agent and wholesaler that is interested in South America. There is still so much to show the industry and not enough time to talk to everyone. This is why we created the Nomade Ambassadors Program, to increase our reach and help to educate the industry.
What do you think are the biggest challenges the industry faces?
Developing new destinations and new ways of travelling, we work with companies from South America that pioneered new ways of travelling like explora and Antarctica 21, or OCIO Territorial in Chiloe, which based their experience on getting closer with locals to understand their way of life. Sometimes being able to articulate the real experience is a challenge.
What do you think will be the biggest game changer in the travel industry in the next 12 months’?
Creating close and personal relationships, after the impact created by the internet where everything is impersonal. Having people-to-people conversations to understand travel needs and what they expect from their travel experiences is coming back. Every time I have the chance to invest time with the trade or a final consumer, we see real results, especially when dealing mature travellers that are looking for their next unique experience.
Who would you invite on your next holiday if you could choose anyone and where would you go? (Can be multiple people)
I would invite all the Nomade Ambassadors to experience Chile (my home country) with me, which will would allow me to show off the destination, but to get to know what makes every part of the country a unique experience – the people.
